Home Player and Handicap 10 Joseph Atito staged a sterling
39 points to emerge the overall winner of the UAP Tournament that was staged at
the par 70 Nyanza Golf.
Atito started off his tee with a Double Borgey on hole one,
he then had a par on hole two, Borgey on hole three, Par on hole for, on hole
five and six he staged Borgey’s while hole 7 and 8 he posted par’s before
finishing the first nine with a Borgey for an impressive 17 Stableford points
in the initial nine.
In the succeeding nine he posted 22 points in Birdie on hole
one, par, on hole two, Borgey on hole three, while he posted par’s on hole four
and five, a Borgey on hole six, Par on seven and Borgey’s on hole 8 and 9.

“Am happy of this win, the weather was challenging as it had
drizzled the previous day that made the course wet but I maneuvered to sail
through to a good start, in the second nine I improved and that worked to my
favor” Atito said.
Second overall was John Orioro who was also playing handicap
10, he posted 36 Stableford points in total after amassing 18 Stableford Points
in the front nine and adding to his tally a similar number in the second nine.
Former Club Captain Tobby See playing off handicap 21 was
third after collecting 36 Stableford points but lost on countback to Orioro.
Handicap 4 Peter Owino took the fourth Position after
posting 19 and 17 Stabelford points respectively in the initial and following
nine for 36 Stableford points in total but also lost on countback.
Ken Amalemba Playing off handicap 10 registered 36
Stableford points in total for the fifth position but also lost on countback
after distributing 19 and 17 Stableford points in the two nines.
Handicap 10 Paul Otieno was sixth after bringing in 35
Points in total from 16 and 19 Stableford points in the first and second nine.
First nine Winner was Bob Odhiambo who was playing handicap
28 who managed 20 Stableford points while the Second nine Winner was handicap
16 Anthony Alachu who posted 20 Stableford points.
The tournament attracted 60 golfers drawn from Kisii, Kakamega,
Mumias, Nandi and Hosts Nyanza but was dominated by home golfers.
