Kisumu Youth Olympic Center’s {KYOC} impressive
form got a boost at the weekend when they defeated Arch Rivals 3-1 in a match
that was played at the Kisumu’s Carwash Grounds.
KYOC got their first goal a minute to
the first half through Churchil Omondi to break the first half at 1-0 lead.
Upon resumption it only took Real
Kisumu 5 minutes as they equalized in the 50th minute through Amatta
scored for Real Kisumu from a penalty kick after dangerous attack from the
goalkeeper.
Churchil added a second goal for a
brace in his tally in the 70th minute while Victor Nyamolo’s slot in
the 90th minute made the things beyond reach for Real Kisumu who has
been fighting for supremacy with the Migosi team.
KYOC
still tops the league with 38 points while Siaya Rangers are second with 36
points while Real Kisumu is a distance 3rd with 33 points.
Before the match the players were
boosted by a word from the coordinator, James Waore Diang’a who is in Sweden
over the phone who promised to give Sh1000 for each goal that would be scored.
Meanwhile KYOC FC treasurer Lilian
Owira expressed her confidence with the team and promised to award them Sh50,
000 should they clinch the title
KYOC who are playing in the provincial
league are poised to join the Division one tier.
