Government for failing to help the Former Kenyan Icon who had raised the
countries name both locally and internationally.
On second of September, a local television channel
traced Former boxing Icon Conjestina Achieng at her Lucky summer residence and
did an interview with her.
The footage that was aired that night made Kenyans from
all walks of life condemn the government for taking a blind eye on the Boxing
Legend who had brought fame to the Country and many medal’s.
Conjestina troubles started on January 20th
2011 when she was admitted at the Mathari Hospital in Nairobi after she burnt
her boxing gear and exhibited mental developmental disability.
The pugilist, nicknamed the "Hands of
stone," then, had to be tranquilised before being admitted after she
turned violent to the doctors that were treating her.
During the interview, it was evident that she had a
developmental emotional problem that needed urgent attention.
Daniel Ndambuki popularly known to his fans as “Mwalimu
Kingang’i” posted on his Facebook page that he had accepted to pay her Sh2000
rent for the whole year as she had not paid for the last four months according
to the interview.

had already together with his friends contributed Sh46, 750 through his "Kenyans For Conjestina" initiative by 1: pm yesterday,
He said that he was saddened to watch Conjestina’s current state and wondered
why she was left to suffer like that yet she was a hero sometimes back.
The Homabay County
delegate Alila and her Former Promoter Robert Tongoi said yesterday that they
will assist in paying her rent and castigated the Boxing Leadership for letting
her suffer.
“Conjestina used to lift
the Kenyan name as a Boxing star and was awarded many medals when she was well,
then she would lift the name of the country but now she has been deserted, why
is this happening?” Alila quipped.
“Is it that she was
useful only then and now she is of no use to the Boxing fraternity?” He asked.
Alila said that the
Boxing leadership had failed Kenyans and they should quit the office for
letting its Legends suffer.
